About the Writer in Residence Program
Calgary Public Library, with financial assistance from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, has offered the Writer in Residence program for more than 25 years.
The Writer in Residence acts a mentor to writers in the community, reviewing manuscripts and providing constructive criticism and advice during individual consultations. She or he offers encouragement and a critical eye to beginning writers seeking to find their own literary voice as well as to established writers who desire a professional appraisal of their work.
The program is hosted by Memorial Park Library. This restored Carnegie library is an inspiring and centrally located setting that enriches the consultations and programs offered by our Writer in Residence. The program usually runs from September to November.
