Committed to inclusion, curiosity, and collaboration, Calgary Public Library is a community space for everyone to connect with new ideas, experiences, inspiration, and insight. Together, let’s create a welcoming and safe Library we can all enjoy.

Please:

  • Respect others
  • Take responsibility for those in your care during your visit
  • Dress appropriately for a public space
  • Be courteous, remembering that others want to enjoy the Library as much as you do
  • Use furniture, equipment, and spaces for their intended purposes
  • Keep all valuable personal items with you
  • Remember we all share the air and strong scents can negatively impact others
  • Create and hold only one Library membership
  • Exit the Library promptly at closing or in the case of an evacuation

To ensure a positive Library experience for everyone, some behaviours are unacceptable, including:

  • Abuse of any kind towards others
  • Intoxication or using intoxicating substances
  • Illegal activity
  • Carrying or using a weapon
  • Sleeping
  • Damaging or stealing Library property
  • Bringing large personal items, such as bikes and suitcases, into the Library
