Why is early learning important?
Healthy development in early childhood sets the course for a child’s future, leads to kindergarten readiness, and prepares children for lifelong learning and success. Early Learning Centres are one piece of Calgary Public Library’s Early Learning Strategy. Learn more about what we’re doing to support early learning by reading our Early Learning Strategy.
Will there be more Early Learning Centres?
Calgary Public Library’s long-term goal is to have an Early Learning Centre in every library in Calgary.
Four Calgary Foundation Early Learning Centres opened from September to December 2017, including Saddletowne Library, Forest Lawn Library, Signal Hill Library, and Crowfoot Library, thanks to a $1 million investment from the Calgary Foundation and an anonymous donor.
Philanthropic support from individuals, organizations, and all levels of government have made our other Early Learning Centres possible. Learn more about how you can invest in early learning at the Library by visiting the Calgary Public Library Foundation's website.
