OVERVIEW

Share Calgary’s stories with the public by providing tours of exhibits and Library spaces.

PROGRAM GOALS

Promote Library spaces as a safe and welcoming environment/destination for all ages
Support library staff in facilitating dynamic interactive learning
Increased patron satisfaction

Fall  Winter  Spring  Summer
As needed
Event dates and times vary depending on requests

VOLUNTEER QUALIFICATIONS

Able to work independently
Fluent in English Language
Public Speaking Skills
Outgoing and friendly personality
Enjoys learning new things and sharing their knowledge

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend an orientation and training session
Engage patrons and share knowledge both to small groups or one-on-one
Interact with stakeholders in a friendly and respectful manner
Abide by the Volunteer Standards of Conduct

TRAINING

Information Package provided prior to first shift for independent learning
On-site orientation provided by community library staff
