Love Your Library Day Celebrates a Strong and Growing Library System

Calgary, AB —Everyone is invited to join Calgary Public Library on Saturday, August 17 for its annual Love Your Library Day. This free one-day event at the city’s 21 libraries will celebrate existing members and introduce new members to the Library, all with the chance of winning cool prizes.

“Love Your Library Day is an exciting opportunity to recognize our existing 722,000+ members while also introducing more people to the incredible benefits that come with a free Calgary Public Library card,” says Mary Kapusta, Director, Communications. “We’ve had an exciting year, with a lot of focus on our newest libraries — Central Library and Seton Library. Love Your Library Day celebrates all our locations and the incredible work that happens throughout our system every day.”

This free city-wide open house runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 17 at the Library’s 21 locations.

Attendees can listen to a city-wide storytime; take a behind-the-scenes Library tour; learn about new services, programs, and eResources; join fun family-friendly programs like intrigue stations, crafts, and selfie stations; sign up for a free Library card; and enter the Check it Out! Contest for a chance to win one of our big prizes. Library members who check out any physical item are automatically entered to win. So, the more books you borrow, the better your chances of winning are!
