Level 2 at the Central Library

Author in Residence

Visit author Marcello Di Cintio to chat about manuscripts or attend programming. This residency is designed to champion the joy of reading, foster an understanding of the craft of writing, and connect readers and writers. This is one of three residencies at the Library.

Maureen Proctor Reading Nook

Readers of all ages can enjoy a good book in the Maureen Proctor Reading Nook. A long-standing volunteer, Library donor Maureen has helped many young readers develop strong reading comprehension skills and discover the magic of reading.

Special Services

Collections, services, and facilities are available for Calgarians of all abilities, including those with visual or hearing impairments, people who are homebound, and people with disabilities. Contact us to find out how we can serve you.

The Millar Family Learning and Discovery Room

This free, bookable meeting space includes everything small groups might need for discovery and learning. Donor Terry Millar recognized that his sense of discovery, connection to nature, and love of history and learning came from his ancestors, and this room is named to celebrate the Millar family legacy in our province.

Terentiuk Space for Adult Learning

This free, bookable meeting space includes everything small groups might need. Donor Robin Terentiuk and her late husband, Fred, were long-time supporters of literacy and education, and so she decided to name a room to recognize the importance of learning throughout adulthood.

Volunteer Lounge

There are lots of opportunities for both adults and youth to get involved with their local Library, including programs specific to the new Central Library. Find the right fit for you and apply now!
