Read for 15

Read for 15 Banner

On Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27, 2018, celebrate reading by taking the province-wide Read for 15 Challenge and help Calgary claim the coveted title of Alberta’s most readerly community,

Step 1

Read ANYTHING for 15 minutes (a book, ebook, graphic novel, your Twitter feed, snowblower instructions, etc.) Reading to a child, your Great-Aunt Mildred, or anybody else counts, too.

Step 2

Let us know! Tell us that you read for 15, and if your group (workplace, classroom, family, friends, etc.) read for 15, tell us how many people participated.

There are two ways to report your participation:

  • Let us know on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram (tag @calgarylibrary and use #Readfor15yyc) anytime between 12 a.m. January 26 to 11:59 p.m. January 27.
  • Or fill out our webform between 12 a.m. January 26 to 11:59 p.m. on January 27 to report your reading.

We can only count you once, so please report your reading on January 26 or January 27.

The community with the greatest percentage of the population who reads for 15 will be named the most "readerly" community in Alberta, so spread the word and get your family, friends, coworkers and neighbours involved!
