Overview

Use your musical skill to help aspiring and beginner musicians individually and in small groups as they learn to play a musical instrument.

Program Goals

  • Support participants in learning to play a musical instrument
  • Help to build community among musicians
  • Assist in maintaining the instruments within our lending Library
  • Increase awareness and use of library resources, services, and programs

Volunteer Qualifications

  • Advanced performance skills on a musical instrument
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Positive communication and interpersonal skills

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Attend an orientation and training session
  • Support program goals
  • Coach participants individually or in small groups on the use of musical instruments
  • Provide encouragement to participants
  • Ensure a positive, comfortable, and fun learning environment
  • Positively interact with members of all ages
  • Assist in maintaining the instruments within our lending Library
