Career Resources Orientations
These 90-minute orientations to our electronic and print career resources will enhance your job search and career development. Engine 23 Fire Truck Tours
Visit Engine 23 at Central Library for a tour of our new Early Learning Centre — a real fire truck! Learn all about the fire truck and fire safety tips, and stay for a storytime.
ESL Library Welcome Tours
These 45-minute tours, for groups of eight or more, introduce newcomers to Library services and resources. The Welcome to the Library program is supported by the RBC Foundation.
Grade six students learn online research techniques while exploring the Calgary Public Library’s e-resources. This 60-minute, hands-on, curriculum-connected program takes place at your school.
Lest We Forget
Students learn about Canada’s military history by exploring the original files of WWI soldiers and nursing sisters from the Calgary area. Students use the source material to write a soldier’s biography or war story, to write a poem or to inspire a creative project. This program is for students in Grade 11 (can also be modified for Grade 5) and takes place at your school.
Tours for Kids or Teens
Visit the Library for a storytime, to explore great reads or to learn online research skills.
