Aspiring entrepreneurs can find free resources and practical knowledge in the Arthur J.E. Child Foundation Business Library. Arthur J.E. Child was a voracious reader who acquired a substantial personal library collection. He was also an avid promoter of business education and competence.

This is your space to use various technologies to collaborate and innovate! Level 3 is a hub of digital technology, modelled on information commons and open design studios.

  • Audio Recording, Video Recording, and Production Studios
    Begin crafting the next great podcast, web series, or video blog in these free, bookable spaces. Record using a selection of professional microphones in the Audio Recording Studio, shoot 4K video against a green screen in the Video Recording Studio, and compile your masterpiece using audio and video editing software in one of two Production Studios.
  • Digital Learning Lab
    Borrow a Chromebook to take in the view from the third floor, or take a seat at a computer in the Digital Learning Lab.
  • The Norrep Foundation Tech Connect Studio
    Programs are offered here every day, whether you’re looking for an introduction or refresher on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), basic computing, or E-Library classes.

This free, bookable room on the third floor supports community building and fostering connections between Calgarians, made possible by Field Law.

FISH by Christian Moeller

You might feel like you’re being watched — by a goldfish! Up close, Christian Moeller’s public art looks like a colourful bookshelf, but take a step back, and a goldfish appears. FISH is one of two public art commissions by Christian Moeller — visit TRIO outside the Library, on both the east and west sides.

Idea Lab

Brainstorm new ideas and solutions for your next business or creative project in the Idea Lab, a free, bookable space. Book the Idea Lab for your group or organization, or attend regular programming to meet others and share ideas.

Job Desk

Drop in and meet with a career counsellor for help with job searching, networking, resume and cover letter development, interview skills, and more. Services are provided in partnership with Career Connection through the support of the Arthur J.E. Child Foundation.

Teen Tech Lab

Teens can work on a variety of projects here, with technology available from sewing machines to robots. There’s also studios for making videos and music, gaming stations, and a performance space.

Services for Newcomers

Find English language learning materials here, as well as the World Languages Collection, with books, magazines, and newspapers in 20 different languages. Settlement Services, provided in partnership with Immigrant Services Calgary, can provide newcomers with information on immigration, housing, employment, healthcare, childcare, and more.

Video Conference Room

This free, bookable meeting room means it is easy to meet with colleagues and friends across the city or across the province for a brainstorm or discussion.
