The backpacks contain tools to help children self-regulate through refocus, distraction, or mitigating the amount of sensory input experienced while at the Library and will be available at Bowness, Central, Crowfoot, Fish Creek, Giuffre Family, Louise Riley, Nose Hill, Saddletowne, Seton, Shawnessy, and Southwood libraries. Ask a staff member to sign out a backpack for free at one of these locations.
The program hopes to mitigate barriers family experience when visiting child-friendly places in the community and allow them to access resources they might not otherwise be able to.
