More Calgarians are using the Library than ever before. At the same time, prices are rising, meaning that for some books — especially new and popular titles — fewer copies are available to meet demand. Great reads should be waiting for you, not the other way around. 

But — with challenges come new opportunities to continue inventing the future of libraries.

Calgary Public Library Foundation’s Fifth Book Campaign seeks to raise $1 million this year to bridge the funding shortfall and ensure that every Calgarian has access to the stories that matter to them.

DIY Book Club

Book clubs are a great way to meet and create lasting connections with people who have similar reading interests to you. Start a new book club or take your existing one to the next level with free resources.

Host your book club in person or virtually at the Library

Reserve a meeting room at one of our 20 library locations, absolutely free, to gather and chat about your latest book club selection. Alternatively, consider meeting virtually to ensure accessibility for all members. Many of our meeting rooms are equipped for both virtual and in-person gatherings, offering the tools you need for a seamless hybrid experience.
