Meet Mirabelle Jien

Mirabelle Jien is a self-producing singer, songwriter, flutist, and composer from Alberta. She holds a Masters of Music from the University of Toronto.

Mirabelle’s sound is a unique blend of her flute playing combined with indie acoustic folk with the help of a looping pedal to create harmonies with herself. As a composer, Mirabelle has worked on various indie video games, commercial background music, and many personal projects. Her recent works include a collaboration with Cass. L. Mann on the lo-fi soundtrack for the video game, "The Day The Sky Fell", and "Overcoming", and original piece she composed live on Twitch for a Stop AAPI Hate charity stream that raised over $10,000 in April 2021. She also premiered the "Clarinet Quartet no. 1" at the Calgary Clarinet Choir Charity Concert to raise funds for Philkids, a music education initiative by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mirabelle is the host and creator of "Making It", a podcast where she talks with Grammy, Emmy, and Oscar winners and nominees.
