Book a Library Workshop

Workshops go beyond a basic presentation. A Library staff member will visit your classroom virtually and engage and interact with your students to support learning.

Debunk the Junk: Media Literacy
Students in grades 4 – 6 will learn how to verify sources from online media and identify trustworthy information. They will learn how to use the “5 Ws” to identify if a source is trustworthy. 

True Story, Better Source: Media Literacy
Students in grades 7 – 9 will learn how to evaluate and verify information and reject misinformation. They will learn about lateral reading, helping them become savvy media consumers.

Caretakers of the Land

Caretakers of the Land  is a virtual program for Grades K – 6. In this program, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, authors, illustrators, performers, and Library staff share the diverse perspectives and ways of knowing of First Nations, Métis and Inuit people living in Alberta.
