Debunk the Junk

Media Literacy Workshop (Grade 4 – 6)

Help your students learn the difference between fact and fiction.

This 45-minute interactive program introduces students to methods for verifying sources from online media. Students will use fun and relevant video and online article examples to develop the awareness and skills required to determine if what they are looking at is real or altered, and to think critically using the 5 W’s. They will also be introduced to the Digital Library as a place to find trusted sources.

We are unable to accept @educbe.ca addresses at this time. Please use an alternative address.

Please specify how many classes will be participating. Workshops are facilitated for one class at a time.

Please select dates that are two weeks in advance of booking, at minimum.

Would you prefer a virtual visit or in-person visit?

Virtual visits will be facilitated via Microsoft Teams. We’ll send you a Teams meeting invite once the date and time of your visit have been confirmed. You will need access to laptop and smartboard or television to stream the session.

Due to the popularity of these programs, we aim to fulfill all requests, but do have a limited number we can offer each week. Thank you for your understanding.
