Calgary Public Library Completes its Pathway to Recovery

Following a cybersecurity incident in October 2024, Calgary Public Library is pleased to share that the Library completed its Pathway to Recovery — a three-staged operational approach to restore full services — in late December.  

This incredible achievement was made possible through the exceptional efforts of our staff, with special thanks to our Technology Team who restored more than 2,000 technology systems and devices across 22 locations in 10 weeks.  

Through the recovery process, the Library has also taken the opportunity to improve digital services where possible. As such, the Library will be implementing a new public desktop computer access software in early 2025. More details will be shared on this system upgrade in the near future.  

The Library appreciates the patience and support of its employees, members, volunteers, and partners as we worked to restore services and provide as much service as possible during our recovery.
