There are many ways Calgary Public Library impacts our community. Our locations are spaces where we can learn, gather, and connect. These spaces provide endless possibilities.
While the Library’s programs and services are an integral part of our community, we know there’s something else that makes our spaces feel special — it’s our people. There are over 800 staff across the city who are always ready to help you find your next favourite book, print your resume, or read to families at storytimes. We know these small moments can make a big difference.
October is Love Your Library Month, we are excited to highlight staff at our locations celebrating anniversaries this year. If you visit Bowness, Judith Umbach, Country Hills, Crowfoot, Louise Riley, or Seton libraries, you may recognize some of these friendly staff members!

Tyler brings a deep knowledge and passion for literacy. Through early literacy programs, including storytimes and one-on-one readers advisory sessions, Tyler is helping the community’s youngest readers develop a love of literacy.

Her favourite part? The daily interactions with people and staff.
Sara first started with Calgary Public Library eight years ago and continues to approach every day with positivity. She enjoys the simple moments at Country Hills. Whether it’s helping someone find a book or supporting someone through a more complex challenge, Sara says there isn’t a better feeling than seeing someone’s face light up when you find a solution, even if it’s just the book they’re looking for.
Cristina has worked at Crowfoot Library for almost 15 years. She is an expert at what she does, performs her tasks efficiently, and always has a smile on her face. Cristina is known for her positive and welcoming presence. Visitors always look forward to seeing her, including Special Needs visitors who are there regularly. Cristina says her coworkers feel like a second family and she’s so glad they can work together to make Crowfoot Library a wonderful space.
